Bulgaria's running scene runs on three pillars — Sofia Marathon and the Wizz Air Sofia Half each pull thousands through the capital, the trail series across Pirin, Rila, and the Rhodopes (Pirin Ultra, Vitosha 100, Salomon Vitosha Trail) draw the mountain crowd, and the Black Sea coast hosts the Burgas Marathon and a growing summer-running circuit. Cyclists know the country two ways: the Tour of Bulgaria stage race and federation criterium calendar (BGCF, Велоездач) cover the road scene, while the Bansko / Borovets / Rhodopes MTB festivals (Bansko Bike Fest, Срeдногорие Bike Tour, Витоша Home Mountain Enduro) anchor the off-road one. Triathlon is smaller but credible — TRI Legend Batak and the Burgas triathlon — and the orienteering federation runs a full national calendar.
