Barrie sits on Lake Simcoe's south shore, 100km north of Toronto, with flat waterfront running along the Honda Waterfront Run course and the Kicking PancreAS 5K route through town. Cyclists head west to the Hardwood forest—rolling terrain with the Hardwood Wednesday Night Weekly MTB Series as the anchor event for local mountain bike racing. The lake itself offers cycle routes along Highway 27 north, though serious elevation comes 30km northwest into the Oak Ridges Moraine.
