Sobre esta carrera
The Lunenburg 5km Road Race and Muffin Run is a June 5K walk or run in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, starting from the community centre. It is part of the Run Nova Scotia Race Series, sending participants through a UNESCO World Heritage town on an open-course route. The event also serves as a local fundraiser for the West Nova Fuels Soccer Club, the Canadian Dory Racing Association, and the Lunenburg Dory Program.
The route passes the boardwalk, the Bluenose, working fishing vessels, old town streets, and the Lunenburg Academy before returning to town for a downhill finish. The course remains open until late morning, accommodating both runners and walkers. Stroller runners should start at the back, and non-service dogs are not permitted. Following the race, awards and a reception take place at the Lunenburg Community Center, featuring hundreds of homemade muffins served by volunteers. Local merchants contribute draw prizes, raffle draws enhance the community atmosphere, and awards are presented to Lunenburg County runners.
