Sobre esta carrera
The Baden Marathon Karlsruhe is a city marathon in Karlsruhe, Germany. It starts at the Europahalle and finishes inside the Carl-Kaufmann Stadium. The main race covers the classic 42.195 km distance. The first half shares much of its route with the half marathon. A notable detail is that runners can wait until the marathon split at about 20.5 km before deciding whether to continue the full distance or follow the half-marathon markers to the finish. The timing system counts them in the correct race without a separate change of registration.
The route heads from the Europahalle into central Karlsruhe, runs along Kriegsstrasse and Ostring, and loops through Durlach, the former residence town of the Margraviate. It returns through Oststadt and Citypark Ost, crosses major central streets, passes Karlsruhe Palace, and goes through the redesigned Marktplatz before heading toward Beiertheim and the Guenther-Klotz Anlage. Full marathoners turn off near Europabad for a second loop through Bulach, Weiherfeld, Rueppurr, and the Oberwald. They then rejoin the first-half course near 33 km for the run back through the city and into the stadium finish.
