Sobre esta carrera
The Bilstein-Marathon is a trail and landscape running event held in Kleinalmerode, a district of Witzenhausen in Hesse, Germany, typically in mid-April. The primary location is the Kaufunger Wald Nature Park in central Germany. The event's name originates from the Bilstein Tower, the park's highest point. The program offers participants several options: a 21 km half marathon, a 42 km marathon, a 57 km ultra-trail, a hiking marathon, and races for children and juniors.
The 21 km, 42 km, and 57 km courses are designed as single loops, focusing the day's activity on crossing forest and hills rather than repeating circuits near town. The Bilstein Tower serves as a notable course landmark; from its summit, views extend towards the Harz mountains and Kassel. LG Kaufungen e.V. is the organizing body, and the team meticulously marks all routes, ensuring runners do not solely depend on digital navigation tools.
