Black Forest Trailrun Masters 2026

The Black Forest Trailrun Masters is a two-day trail running event held in Elzach, Germany’s Black Forest. Participants can select individual races of 14, 22, 37, or 55 kilometers, or compete in the full stage format: 55 kilometers on Saturday with 2,700 meters of elevation gain, followed by 37 kilometers on Sunday with an additional 830 meters uphill. The event offers a diverse mix for a single series, covering mountain running, trail running, stage racing, and ultrarunning. The shorter distances provide an entry point for non-ultra runners: the 14 km Bodenhäusle Trail includes 610 meters of climbing, and the 22 km Biereck-Bachere Trail has 480 meters. Children’s and Bambini races introduce a local family element to the schedule, with registration open online beforehand and in person on race day. The event, established in 2011 in Simonswald, is part of the Schwarzwald-Berglauf-Pokal cup. An early race report described it as a “Black Forest ultra fairy tale,” reflecting the concept of a challenging, hilly weekend focused on forest paths instead of urban streets.
