The Ironman 70.3 Kraichgau triathlon takes place in Bad Schönborn, Baden-Württemberg, in late May. The primary age-group competition follows the standard 70.3 middle-distance format: a 1.9 km swim, a 90.1 km bike course, and a 21.1 km run. Both individual and relay entries are offered.
The weekend also features an Elite and U23 sprint race, consisting of a 750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run. This sprint race is a component of the DTU 1. Triathlon Bundesliga. The event draws a diverse field: approximately 2,500 age-group athletes are anticipated for the individual middle-distance race, with about 120 for the relay, and just over 130 for the elite sprint. This blend allows for competitive club racing alongside the larger Ironman 70.3 participant group.
