The Funky Fungi Gravel Ride starts in Teloché, in the Sarthe department of France, and turns a gravel ride into a mushroom-themed adventure. It is organized by Passionné Mans Gravel, a Teloché-based association with about thirty members, and it is built for riders who want an untimed day on small roads and tracks rather than a race against the clock. Four gravel routes are offered, so the format can suit different levels and appetites for distance.
The ride sends participants toward the Bercé forest and the surrounding lanes, with the goal of reaching the Bio Fungi Fa mushroom farm in the Rochettes caves at Mayet. Riders also have a riddle to solve during the route, with answers handed in at the finish. The event reflects the association’s wider aim: promote low-impact travel, show off local producers and places, and use the proceeds to help fund a tandem program for visually impaired and blind riders, including adapted routes and pilot training.
