Sobre esta carrera
L'Iserane closes the D902 in Savoie to cars, dedicating the road to bicycles between Val-d'Isère and Bonneval-sur-Arc. This free cycling event in June, organized by the Club des Sports de Val d'Isère, presents a straightforward challenge: a 16 km ascent to the Col de l'Iseran, Europe's highest road pass at 2,770 m.
Riders ascend from Bonneval-sur-Arc towards the pass, covering approximately 970 m in elevation gain, sometimes cycling between snow walls. The route connects Maurienne and Tarentaise, is part of the Route des Grandes Alpes, and has hosted Tour de France stages alongside numerous touring cyclists. On-site registration is available at the start or near the Tourist Office square, including breakfast, a cycling meet-up, and a tombola. The climb also contributes to the Haute Maurienne Vanoise Cyclo Challenge, where participants accumulate vertical meters across six different climbs.
