La Castraise is an autumn cyclosportive held in Castres, organized by Vélo Sport Castrais. It now concludes the regional cyclosportive season, following events like La Jalabert and the 24h d'Albi. The event was previously in April, relocated to October during Covid, and remained there as the autumn timing proved suitable.
Riders can select from three routes, plus a randonnée for those preferring a ride over the competitive format. The longest route covers 128 km and is challenging, while the 98 km option also demands significant effort with approximately 1,500 meters of elevation gain. About a thousand participants are anticipated, drawing riders from across France as well as Canada, Belgium, and Germany, giving this local Tarn event a broader participation base than its town setting might imply.
