About
Le Grand-Huit Vosgien is a hilly cyclosportive held at Stade Maroselli in Luxeuil-les-Bains, on the southern edge of the Vosges in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. The 116 km option presents the main middle-distance challenge, beginning early and including approximately 3,600 metres of climbing. Participants can use a standard road bike or an e-bike. The event also features a shorter 62 km cyclo-rando and a longer 180 km route.
The course enters the Vosges saônoises, targeting the highest points of Haute-Saône, meaning the day focuses on repeated ascents rather than flat speed. Cyclo club de Froideconche organizes the event, with connections to the regional cycling committee and the French Cycling Federation. Past editions of the Grand-Huit used challenging names from the region, such as Col des Chevrères, Ballon d’Alsace, Ballon de Servance, and Planche des Belles Filles, indicating the type of terrain participants can expect.
