The Trail de l'algue begins by the beach in Pleubian, located on the Côtes-d'Armor coast of Brittany. The races remain close to the sea. The current program includes 8 km, 14 km, and 23 km options, suitable for novice trail runners and those seeking a longer run. The event is conducted as a nature race, distinct from a road race, and the listed courses are not timed.
The 8 km and 14 km routes consist of approximately two-thirds paths and the GR34 coastal trail, with the remaining third on roads. Runners will pass locations such as Kermagen, Creac'h Maout, Rugno, and Port la Chaîne. The 14 km route additionally passes Crec'h Castel, Anse de Laneros, and the Sillon. The association des coureurs du Talbet organizes the event, with all profits distributed to the commune's two primary schools. Children have their own free races, ranging from 800 m to 2.6 km, and each finisher receives a medal and a small souvenir.
