Sobre esta carrera
Kew The Run is a spring race weekend held within the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. It features a 10K race on Saturday morning and a half marathon on Sunday morning. Both races begin near the Palm House, with participants entering from Kew Green. The routes follow flat roads and paths, concluding back inside the gardens. The half marathon, promoted as London’s flattest, attracts runners aiming for fast times and those using it as preparation for marathons like London, Manchester, or Brighton.
The course offers a unique opportunity to run through a protected garden, passing Kew landmarks such as the Palm House, Temperate House, Great Pagoda, Broad Walk, Queen Charlotte’s Cottage, the Kitchen Garden, The Hive, and the Giant Redwoods. Runners of all abilities, including power walkers, are welcome, and pacemakers are available to assist with target paces. The event includes chip timing, an England Athletics certified course, marshals, sweep marshals, first aid, DJs, cheer stations, a tech T-shirt, medal, goody bag, and post-race refreshments. Race entries also grant morning access for supporters, with each runner permitted up to four guests during the early entry period. Families can explore Kew’s UNESCO World Heritage gardens after completing their race.
