Sobre esta carrera
Runnymede Runners Summer Relays takes place in Windsor Great Park. Teams aim to complete as many 5k laps as possible between noon and mid-afternoon. The course winds through the park’s deer enclosure, with Windsor Castle visible in the distance. Participants can form teams of two or four adults, with options for single-sex or mixed groups, and a solo category is available for individual runners. A runner may complete one lap, pass the baton, and then rest until their next turn. This structure suits club runners, workplace teams, groups of friends, and individuals focused on achieving the highest lap count.
The final lap can commence just before the cutoff time, introducing a tactical element: teams must judge if they have time for an additional circuit. Awards are presented for the most laps in solo male, solo female, pairs, and four-person team categories. All participants receive medals. The event also features a free children's race, approximately 400-600m, with registration available on the day, including race numbers and finish medals. A Festival Village surrounds the running activities, offering a charity cake stall, refreshments, massage and stretching services, merchandise, picnic areas, complimentary parking, and restrooms near the start. Proceeds benefit local charities, such as Woking and Sam Beare Hospice.
