Sobre esta carrera
La Spijkenisse-SPARK Marathon empieza y termina en Spijkenisse, Netherlands, y ofrece cuatro distancias: 5 km, 10 km, half marathon y marathon. Esta carrera de asfalto, organizada por un grupo asociado a la Atletiekunie (la federación holandesa de atletismo), tiene un límite de 1.500 participantes.
El recorrido de la marathon va sobre todo por los polders abiertos de Nissewaard y sigue el Bernisse. Por eso, el viento y la lluvia pueden afectar mucho más la carrera que en un circuito urbano protegido. Precisamente por estar tan expuesta es atractiva: hay corredores que han participado en todas las ediciones. La carrera ha atraído a gente de Belgium, the United States, Norway, Germany y Great Britain. Se creó en 2010 y no permite inscripciones de última hora.
