Sobre esta carrera
The Colour Zone Run is a non-competitive 5 km run, walk, or crawl in Christchurch's Red Zone, alongside the Avon River. It uses wave starts, but there is no timing pressure; participants move around the course at their own pace, focusing on finishing covered in colour rather than chasing a result.
The route is a single loop through Red Zone parkland, starting and finishing on old Ardrossan Street off Avondale Road. Colour stations are spread through the course, with powder thrown, blasted, and blown from several directions, including under the trees. Families, friends, social groups, and first-timers are well-suited to the event, and organisers encourage white or black clothing so the colour shows up clearly.
