Bieg Ultra Granią Tatr 2026

Bieg Ultra Granią Tatr is a 71 km mountain ultramarathon in the Polish Tatras, run in the second half of August on trails within Tatra National Park. It begins at Siwa Polana at the mouth of Chochołowska Valley and concludes in Kuźnice, featuring approximately 5,000 m of elevation change. The race, established in 2013, was held biennially until 2024 and now occurs annually. Entry is limited to 350 participants, with demand typically exceeding available spots by two or three to one, and registration necessitates qualifying points from other ultra races. The course crosses high mountain sections, frequently exceeding 2,000 m, connecting well-known Tatra landscapes into a demanding single-day event. Runners navigate the Grześ-Rakoń-Wołowiec-Jarząbczy-Starobociański-Ornak ridge, descend through Kościeliska Valley and Hala Ornak, ascend toward Ciemniak, Kopa Kondracka, Kasprowy Wierch, and Murowaniec, then confront Krzyżne Pass before descending towards the Five Polish Ponds Valley. The final segment passes Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza, Waksmundzka Równień, Psia Trawka, and Polana Olczyska en route to Kuźnice. The time limit is 17 hours 30 minutes, and the event is organized by Tatra guides and TOPR rescuers from TKN Tatra Team in Zakopane.
