Sobre esta carrera
The Międzynarodowy Bieg Górski Żar is a short, steep mountain race in Międzybrodzie Żywieckie, Poland. Runners begin in the village at the junction of Beskidzka Street and Młyńska Street, then ascend 8.6 km to the finish on Góra Żar. The route gains approximately 650 meters, with an average gradient of 7%, making it more of an uphill test than a fast road race. Registration and number checks occur in the morning, and the main race commences before midday.
The finish area remains on the mountain: official results and the closing ceremony take place on Góra Żar, with a folk band performing during the awards. The event is organized by the Czernichów commune office and Stowarzyszenie Bajeczne Beskidy, with Kazimierz Hojdys listed as race director in the race materials. Adults and youth runners have distinct entry fees, while runners aged 70 and over are exempt. Finishers receive a commemorative medal, mineral water, a meal, and a ticket for the cable car ride down from Góra Żar.
