The Broken Sword Triathlon offers a sprint race for solo athletes or relay teams, benefiting Clarksville Parks & Recreation. The course starts with an open water swim at Lake Ludwig. The bike leg follows paved roads with views of the Ozark Mountains, including a rolling downhill section and a route through downtown and the University of the Ozarks campus. The finish is on the flat Spadra Creek Nature Trail, an out-and-back through pasture and wooded areas. A local legend about a broken sword found near Spadra Creek gives the event its name. A finisher medal and a downtown festival follow.
