Mantua Elementary School hosts the 25th Annual Raccoon Run, a community event honoring the memory of Mrs. Roberta Romano, a former Mantua Elementary School teacher who passed away from cancer. For over two decades, this run has been held in her honor, encouraging a spirit of giving back among students. It’s an annual tradition sponsored by Mantua's Kids Care Club, showing a commitment to community support.
This event, organized by Mantua's Kids Care Club and W.T. Woodson Young Hearts Club, includes children K-6 and their families in a 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run, helping young people develop a love of giving back. All proceeds benefit Life With Cancer, an INOVA Hospital program providing support to those living with cancer and their families. Finishers will receive refreshments and awards after both races.
