The Hutwisch Berglauf, also known as the Hutwischlauf, is a short mountain race held in Bad Schönau, located in Austria’s Bucklige Welt region. It is a component of the Buckltour series, featuring a 5.5 km course with a 430-meter ascent, making it a steep uphill challenge rather than a typical road race.
The majority of the course winds through shaded forest before the final ascent to the Hutwischwarte lookout tower. The finish presents a final obstacle: participants must ascend 102 steps before crossing the line, greeted by a wide panorama of the surrounding hills. Club runners participate in the event; Sibylle Kerschbaum of LAC Unlimited completed the race in 39:19.29, securing fifth place among women and second in the W50 age category.
