The ASVÖ SCOTT Junior Trophy begins in the center of Bad Goisern, Austria, during the Salzkammergut Trophy weekend. This mountain bike event is for children and young riders aged three to 14, attracting over 400 participants. The course is designed specifically for juniors, not as a scaled-down version for adults: from U9 onwards, riders can opt for a playful skills course without timing or an XC race with timing.
The skills course emphasizes bike handling over speed, with children navigating obstacles and demonstrating control without racing against the clock. Categories are organized by wheel size instead of age, which is practical for younger riders whose bikes differ significantly. Girls and boys compete separately from U9 to U13, though U15 riders still start together. The event is organized by MTB Club Salzkammergut and contributes to the Centurion Mountainbike Challenge; one U9 race featured 41 starters and concluded with a close sprint between Tobias Zidej and a competitor from the Czech Republic.
