The Berglauf Ponigl-Zetz Gipfel is a small mountain race in Weiz, Styria, Austria. It begins at noon with a field limited to about 100 runners. The course measures 3.7 km, but includes a 660-meter climb, making it a steep uphill effort rather than a typical road race.
Participants begin in Ponigl, near the Hand, from the vicinity of In der Erlach 5, and ascend toward the Zetz Gipfel. RC-TRI-RUN ATUS Weiz organizes the event, which has been held since 2004. Registration is straightforward: runners can sign up online beforehand, by phone, in person before race day, or on race day itself. Timing is conducted using stopwatches.
