Crosslauf Horn opens the Waldviertler Crosslauf Series in Horn, with runners starting on the Horner Kuhberg. The series is a five-race cross-country cup, and Horn traditionally opens the schedule. The main race is a 6.1-kilometer run with 60 meters of climbing; it is short enough to race hard but uneven enough to punish careless pacing.
The course uses five laps around the Kuhberg, with constant rises and drops rather than one simple climb. Narrow paths force runners to pay attention and make passing tricky, while the plateau and forest roads offer better chances to move through the field. The Horn round also serves as the ULC Horn club championship, giving the opener a local edge beyond the series points.
