Crosslauf Zwettl 2026

The Zwettler Crosslauf is a cross-country race held in early winter in Zwettl, Lower Austria, part of the W.E.B. Waldviertler Crosslaufserie. The Zwettl event is a focused club-style gathering. The primary race is 6.4 km, with a 5 km alternative. Separate youth races are available for U12, U14, and U18 age categories. Adult participants are divided into M/W age groups from 20 to 60+, while children, pupils, and youth compete without charge. Adults pay a modest entry fee upon collecting their race number. The main race begins at the Bewegungspark near Hammerweg, close to the Handelsakademie, and concludes at the Zwettltal exit by the Evangelical Church. Race numbers and last-minute registrations are managed at the Zwettltal-Stadion just before the start. Finishers receive water, hot tea, and cookies. There is no immediate ceremony for the day's winners, as series awards are presented after the final race. The competition includes both series contenders and local club athletes. Martin Hofbauer has won the main event, Ruth Doppler has been the leading woman in Waldviertel, and the Hengstberger family has competed across youth, adult, and masters divisions.
