The Ernstbrunner Silvesterlauf is a New Year's Eve run in Ernstbrunn, Lower Austria. It offers a short 5.3 km race and a 5.3 km Nordic-walking option. The route features hilly terrain, making it more of a local cross-country-style outing than a flat road race for fast times. All participants finish at the Dörfles Wildpark car park, near the wildlife park area outside the town.
The course crosses the Reuss'schen Wald, on land provided by the Reuss family, whose support is essential to the event. Verena Engelbrecht and Christine Brunner organize the race. Their stated goal is a local run, which aligns with the participants: the third edition attracted around 300 runners, primarily from the surrounding region, setting a new participation record. The same team also organizes a summer cross-country race, Sunday = Runday, in the Leiser Berge.
