Int. Mondseer 5-Seen Marathon 2026

The Int. Mondseer 5-Seen Marathon is a road cycling marathon held annually in June in Mondsee, Austria's Salzkammergut region. For one weekend, the town becomes a cycling center, attracting approximately 2,000 riders from over 30 nations. Participants can choose from three main routes: 75 km, 140 km, or 200 km. The event includes a handbike route, catering to both endurance cyclists and those seeking a shorter ride. It is part of the Austria Top Tour series, and has been voted Europe's most popular cycling marathon by participants on multiple occasions. The 200 km route, which gives the race its name, connects five lakes: Fuschlsee, Wolfgangsee, Hallstättersee, Attersee, and Mondsee. The course begins with flat sections along the shores of Mondsee and Wolfgangsee. Significant climbing starts after Scharflinger Höhe, featuring Postalm, Pass Gschütt, and Großalmhöhe. The full course covers about 200 km and reaches Lienbachsattel at 1,304 m. Shorter routes offer similar lake scenery with reduced distance and elevation gain. Naturfreunde Raiffeisen Mondseeland organizes the event, which has seen fields exceeding 2,400 riders in its largest editions.
