About this race
The Junior MTB Challenge is the youth component of the KTM Mountainbike Challenge, featuring cross-country races for participants aged five to sixteen. At most marathon events in the series, children and teenagers are provided with suitable XC courses, rather than competing on the adult marathon distances. All participants require a stable, fully functional bicycle, and helmets and gloves are compulsory.
The overall standings differ from the marathon rankings: points are awarded based on the time difference to the winner of each age category, not the fastest overall time. A participant’s best four results are considered, with a minimum of three results necessary to be included in the series ranking. This structure emphasizes age-group competition and offers young riders multiple opportunities to accumulate points throughout the season.
