The Kürnberg Trail Run begins and ends at Forsthaus Kürnbergwald, near Linz in Upper Austria. This forest trail race takes place in the Kürnbergwald, a large recreational area utilized by residents of Linz, Leonding, Wilhering, and surrounding communities. The Classic Trail covers approximately 11 km with an elevation gain listed between 205 and 310 meters. A 20 km option is also available. The race employs chip timing, features men’s and women’s categories, and recognizes the top three overall male and female finishers.
The course winds through the Kürnbergwald’s varied terrain, including forest roads, root-filled paths, singletrack, level sections, extended ascents, and quick descents. The forest contains the district’s highest point at 526 meters, ensuring even the shorter race provides sufficient climbing to distinguish it from a park run. Tri Stars Austria is the organizer, and participants receive a finisher medal. Online pre-registration is required, with late entries accepted at Forsthaus Kürnbergwald if spots remain.
