About this race
The Katsdorfer Altjahrslauf is a road running event in Katsdorf, Upper Austria. Distances range from short children's races to a 7.2 km main race. The programme accommodates a mixed field: UNIQA children's races are 300 m, 850 m, and 1700 m; the hobby run and Nordic Walking route is 3.6 km; and the relay involves three runners completing 850 m laps.
The main race covers two laps for a total of 7.2 km. This distance is suitable for club runners aiming for speed, yet longer than a casual fun run. Children compete in age classes, with prizes and trophies awarded to the fastest three in each class. Relay teams are ranked separately by category: female, mixed, and male. Participants receive a starter gift and race socks. Past editions have seen determined runners compete even in freezing sunshine, with some participants still wearing shorts.
