Kitzbüheler Radmarathon

The Kitzbüheler Radmarathon is a road cycling marathon in Kitzbühel, Austria. Its most demanding route spans 216 kilometers with 4,600 meters of climbing. Participants begin in Vorderstadt. The Finish Klassik route concludes atop the Kitzbüheler Horn, marking the end of a long day on Alpine roads. A slightly shorter option, Finish Kitz, covers 209 kilometers and 3,800 meters, but returns to Kitzbühel Vorderstadt rather than finishing on the mountain. The Kitzbüheler Horn provides the race's challenge: the primary route includes a significant final ascent, making the finish not merely a destination but a demanding final effort. Participants come from beyond Austria, and the event has reached its capacity of 1,500 registrations. While course records exist, the event caters to more than just elite racers. Several aid stations, a small bike service area, and connections to training camps with Andy Schleck suggest a broader cycling event surrounding the marathon.
