The Ziersdorfer Schmidalauf, previously the Ziersdorfer Osterlauf, is a local running event held at the Ziersdorf sports ground on Retzerstraße. SV Ziersdorf organizes it as part of the Schmidataler Laufcup. The event includes a 10 km main race, a 5 km public run, Nordic Walking, Smovey, youth races, children’s races, and a three-person relay.
The 5 km route is a flat loop passing through the sports facility. Runners follow paths between fields and meadows, with sections of asphalt, natural surface, and a stretch alongside the Schmida river. The youth race is 2.7 km for U14 and U16 participants, and the relay consists of three 2.75 km legs. Children compete in shorter distances of 255 m, 510 m, and 765 m. Each child receives a commemorative medal before the awards ceremony, trophies, and lunch at the sports ground.
