About this race
The Coronet Bay Fun Run/Walk is a small annual community race in the seaside town of Coronet Bay, offering three- and five-kilometre options for runners and walkers. The Coronet Bay Community Association organises the event, which can include children, families, walkers, runners, and pets.
The course uses local streets and the foreshore. Local identity Laurie Black started the event in the late 1990s and coordinated it for many years. It first ran from the foreshore reserve at the end of Cutty Sark Road, later used the community hall, returned to the foreshore, and then moved back to the hall after bad weather nearly stopped the event.
