Cyclists know Australia for the Tour Down Under in Adelaide every January (the WorldTour season opener), the Peaks Challenge Falls Creek and the Bowral Classic for amateur granfondos, and a deep gravel and ultra-endurance scene anchored by the Hunt 1000, Race to the Rock, and the Munga. Ironman Cairns and Ironman Western Australia in Busselton draw the long-course tri crowd; the season runs year-round thanks to the climate, with winter racing in the tropical north and summer racing in the southern states.
