Geelong Running Festival
The Geelong Running Festival begins at Eastern Beach in Geelong, Victoria. The main race day features a marathon, half marathon, wheelchair half marathon, and a 6.5km community run. Notably, this marks Geelong's first marathon, following seven years of planning. The festival also offers shorter races for children and all-abilities participants, catering to runners, walkers, families, and those seeking shorter or less formal distances alongside the full 42.2km marathon. The course winds through Geelong's traffic-free streets, passing Kardinia Park and offering views of Corio Bay and the Eastern Beach foreshore. The event welcomes local participants as well as national and international visitors, aiming to showcase the city and its landmarks. Grassrootz serves as the charity partner, with funds supporting local charities. The race program includes a kids mile, an all-abilities mile, and an 800m run for children aged five and under.
