The Bloody Long Walk Sydney East 2026

The Bloody Long Walk Sydney East is a 35 km point-to-point endurance event across Sydney, starting at Pioneers Park in Malabar and finishing at Hickson Road Reserve in The Rocks. It is a Walk to Cure Mito, and participants can walk, jog, or run the route, not treating it as a standard road race. The course follows Sydney’s eastern side from the coast into the harbour, passing beaches such as Coogee and Bondi before heading through Watsons Bay and Rose Bay. Near the end it goes beside the Royal Botanic Gardens, passes the Opera House, and finishes beneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The event raises money for the Mito Foundation, which funds work toward cures for mitochondrial disease, a severe genetic disorder that can be life-threatening. Past participants have noted the encouragement signs, pit stops, volunteer energy, and strong organisation along the way.
