About this race

The Wheelchair 10km is a component of the ASICS Gold Coast Marathon, held on the Gold Coast. The course is flat and fast, designed for racing wheelchairs. It is open to athletes aged 12 and older, with a 1 hour 45 minute cutoff time. The event adheres to Athletics Australia, World Para Athletics, and World Athletics rules. The course follows the Gold Coast broadwater and its surf beaches, offering water views from Sundale Bridge before finishing at Broadwater Parklands. Only recognized racing wheelchairs are permitted; hand-cycles, day chairs, or those with mechanical gears are not allowed, ensuring a focus on athletics-style wheelchair racing. Samuel Rizzo set the men's course record at 23:59, and Emily Tapp holds the women's record at 28:36.
