About this race
30KM door het Zoniënwoud is a 30 km trail race through the Sonian Forest on the edge of Brussels, starting from the sports center in Auderghem. It is run in October as one single loop, with over 90 percent of the route on unpaved paths and about 529 meters of elevation gain. The time limit is seven hours, suitable for runners seeking a forest ultra-style day without committing to a full marathon distance.
The course remains primarily within the woods and is marked with large black-arrow signs, with marshals present at road crossings. There are three aid stations, providing water, energy drink, and snacks. The race operates on a semi-autonomous basis: runners must carry their own cup or bottle as disposable plastic cups are not provided. Approximately 1,000 runners participated in the first edition, establishing it as a relatively new race with an already strong field. The start area is accessible by metro, bus, and tram, though parking near the sports center is limited.
