Cavatrail 2.0 2027

Cavatrail 2.0 is a winter trail run held at Provinciaal Domein Het Leen in Eeklo, East Flanders. It is an annual event featuring mostly off-road running, where weather conditions can be a factor, making clean white socks an impractical choice. The race provides multiple distances for adults; the current advertised distances are 5, 10, 20, and 30 km, following a course revision. Previous editions offered 8, 16, and 24 km options, indicating a format adjustment rather than a static setup. The location is a provincial nature domain, and the race incorporates this theme with nature-inspired prizes and amenities like a cafeteria. A youth run of approximately 2 km has been introduced, allowing adults to accompany the youngest participants. Adults can then opt for their own short race afterwards. Every participant receives a bottle of Perelada cava, contributing to the event's name and offering a distinct finish-line reward. With over ten editions completed, the series possesses local history without the feel of a large commercial event.
