Grand Trail des Lacs & Châteaux Winter Edition (GTLC) 2026

The Grand Trail des Lacs & Châteaux Winter Edition is a two-day event held in November at Ovifat, Belgium, with the start area located near the Ovifat track. Distances range from approximately 16 km to 80 km, allowing participants to choose between a short Ardennes trail race or a longer ultra. The mid-distance GT35/38 option covers about 36-38 km with roughly 1,340-1,350 meters of elevation gain and qualifies as a UTMB Index race in the 20K category. The routes traverse varied, mostly wooded terrain featuring significant climbing and descending, rather than flat road sections. Longer distances include 52 km, 66 km, and 80 km courses; the 80 km route has nearly 2,850 meters of elevation gain and falls under the 100K UTMB category. The GT35 event has seen over 500 finishers, with Belgian runners frequently appearing at the top of the results, alongside participants from nearby countries like Italy, the Netherlands, and France. The weekend's schedule includes bib collection, briefings, podium ceremonies, published results, and official photo and video coverage.
