About this race
The Trail des Lumeçons sends runners into Namur at night, with routes built around the famous Citadel above the city. Namur sits where the Sambre and Meuse rivers meet, and the event uses that historic Walloon capital as the setting for three trail distances: 25 km, 18 km, and 10 km.
The organizers keep the exact courses secret, publishing only the elevation gains a few days before the start. Earlier editions used shorter options too, including 7 km with 290 m of climbing and 15 km with 540 m, so this is not just a flat city run with a headlamp. The first edition drew more than 500 starters after 200 pre-registrations, and one race report describes rain, heavy traffic in Namur, a delayed start so blocked runners could arrive, and a very muddy course.
