About this race
The Kruibeekse Polderloop begins and ends at the Kruibeekse Poort, situated on the ring dike adjacent to the polders of Kruibeke in East Flanders. This local late-summer running event offers a short youth race and longer adult distances, officially listed as 1 km for young runners and 6 km and 12 km for adults. Recent event details also indicate the adult distances are approximately 6.5 km and 11.5 km. Now in its sixteenth edition, the race possesses sufficient history to be considered established, yet retains the scale of a village event.
The course navigates the ring dike and the open polder landscape, avoiding city streets. The 1 km youth route is a straightforward out-and-back on the dike. The longer races extend further into the polder scenery and feature two drink stations. Participants may register on the day of the event; changing facilities are limited, and parking is designated at the end of Scheldelei. Following the races, a prize ceremony takes place at the event site, and the event contributes to a local charity.
