About this race
Reuzenloop is a free May fun run in Borgerhout, Antwerp, starting and finishing on Krugerplein. The race uses paved roads and includes 5 km and 10 km options, along with Kidsruns for ages 4-6 and 7-10. The atmosphere is more neighborhood festival than competitive road race; runners can register for free on race day, and all finishers receive a medal.
The route defines the event's character. It guides participants through locations not typically found on race courses, such as a concert hall, a church, a mosque, and a section of the former Stuivenberg hospital. The event caters to families, casual runners, and local residents as much as to those aiming for a specific time. Charity is also part of the day: runners may make a voluntary donation to Kom op tegen Kanker, and merchandise like shirts, sweaters, T-shirts, and trucker caps are sold to support the same cause.
