About this race
Challenge Florianópolis is a triathlon race series in Florianópolis, Brazil, focused on ocean racing and a fast coastal course. The main middle-distance event includes a 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike, and 21.1 km run. A sprint option offers a 750 m swim, 30 km bike, and 7 km run. Junior Challenge races are available for younger athletes with shorter distances, alongside a 7 km fun run.
The middle-distance course begins with a single-lap swim in calm ocean waters. Athletes then complete two 45 km bike laps on a flat route designed for speed. The half-marathon run consists of three laps along the coastline, allowing for multiple spectator viewing points. Local crowds, Brazilian hospitality, beaches, good food, and a relaxed post-race atmosphere contribute to the event, with Carlos Fernando de Menezes as race director.
