About this race
The Vancouver Triathlon begins and ends near the Ceperley Park Playground in Stanley Park. Athletes will swim in the ocean, cycle on closed park roads, and run along the seawall. This triathlon, held in September, has taken place annually since 2004. It offers multiple participation options: Standard/Olympic distance, Sprint, Super Sprint/Try-A-Tri, Duathlon, and relay teams for the Standard and Sprint distances.
The Standard course includes a 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike ride, and 10 km run. The Sprint distance covers half of that: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run. The Try-A-Tri is shorter, with a 375 m swim, 10 km bike, and 2.5 km run. Hundreds of participants compete each year, with chip timing, finisher medals, athlete shirts, and post-race refreshments provided. MultiSportsCanada organizes the event, which benefits Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver, the Vancouver Lifeguard Association, Ronald McDonald House British Columbia & Yukon, and the Stanley Park Ecology Society.
