About this race
The GMS Queen City Marathon takes place over a weekend in September in Regina, Saskatchewan. It is Saskatchewan’s largest marathon weekend, featuring more than one start line. The event begins with a Friday evening Night Owl 5K. Saturday includes races such as a Family 5K and a Mini-Marathon for children aged 2 to 14. Sunday is centered around the 42.2K marathon, with additional options for a half marathon, 10K, relay, walking, wheelchair, and virtual participation.
The event accommodates runners, walkers, wheelchair athletes, relay teams, children, and families, not exclusively marathon specialists. The full marathon distance can be run, walked, raced by wheelchair, or completed as a 42.2K team relay. The half marathon offers both run and walk categories. Fundraising is integrated into the weekend, allowing participants to support numerous Regina and Saskatchewan organizations. The event also provides volunteer opportunities and unique challenges known as the Scribbly Challenge and Scribbly Cubed.
