High Noon 24Hr Trail Race & Relay
Saturday, June 27, 2026 · Thunder Bay, Canada
About this race
The High Noon 24 Hour Trail Race & Relay takes place at Kamview Nordic Centre in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The race begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, with the 24-hour field continuing through the night. Participants aim to cover the maximum distance possible within their time limit. Options include solo 24-hour, 12-hour, and 6-hour races, as well as relay teams and a 4-hour youth solo race for those 17 and younger. The format is straightforward: maintain continuous movement, track laps, and traverse the designated trail loop as many times as desired. Timing is done via chips with live results. The event is cupless, requiring participants to provide their own bottles or cups at the aid station.
The course consists of a 3.38 km loop utilizing cross-country ski trails. Sections of the course are unlit after sunset, necessitating headlamps. Solo runners receive distance medals for reaching specific lap counts: 13 laps for marathon distance, 15 for 50 km, 24 for 50 miles, 30 for 100 km, and 48 for the 100-mile belt buckle. The High Noon Corral serves as a central area for tents, equipment, and small propane camp stoves for runners and teams. The aid station provides snacks, beverages, Precision Fuel & Hydration products, and Tailwind. The event fosters an overnight camp atmosphere with music, bonfires, games, late-night pizza, and vegan-friendly pancakes served Sunday morning. Relay awards recognize a Spiciest Team Award for a non-corporate team demonstrating the most laps and High Noon spirit, alongside a Top Cowhand Crew award for the leading corporate relay team.
