The Last Chance Half Marathon & 10 km begins and ends at the North Glenmore Park Community Centre in southwest Calgary. Its November timing suits its name, serving as one more organized race before many runners transition indoors for winter. Be There Races organizes the event, offering a half marathon with both an early start and a main start, followed shortly by the 10 km. The shorter race was added after the half marathon was established, providing a less demanding option on the same pathway system.
The route departs the community centre, utilizes pathways around Rockyview hospital, and runs alongside the reservoir. The 10 km follows the half marathon course before turning back earlier, so both distances share a similar park-and-waterfront character. Runners receive practical cold-season amenities at the community centre, including indoor space, indoor washrooms, and access to an upstairs room when not racing. Entry includes a shirt, finisher medal, sub sandwiches, snacks, a post-race lunch, and Annex beer. Awards are presented to the top three men and women in each 10-year age group, with prizes from Stride’s Running Store.
