About this race
Mountie Maker is an obstacle race held at the RCMP Academy grounds in Regina, Saskatchewan, organized in September by the YMCA of Regina. The main event is a 7.5 km run featuring 26 obstacles, a figure reflecting the 26-week Cadet Training Program at Depot. Adults and cadets may participate in the full course individually or as a team. The initial morning heat is designated for solo competitive runners seeking placings.
The course is contained within the RCMP Academy area, an active training facility, requiring runners to stay on the designated race route. Shorter races are also available: a Mini Mountie 2 km obstacle race for children aged 5 to 13, and a 2 km adult sprint for those preferring a shorter challenge. Registration covers a shirt, medal, water, and post-race snacks. For race day, participants are advised to bring minimal personal items, use a clear plastic bag for belongings, and secure it to a fence within the grounds during the run.
