About this race
Tuff Pumpkin Edmonton is a fall run and walk held at Northeast River Valley Park in Edmonton, Alberta. It begins at 9:00 a.m. and features a full pumpkin theme. The standard option is the Pumpkin Run, a 5k run/walk with optional race timing. The event also includes a 5k Pumpkin Haul, where each participant carries a pumpkin, and a Team Haul variation where teammates share one pumpkin over 5k, trading off as needed. For a shorter distance, the 2k Sugar Pumpkin allows walking or running with or without a small pumpkin, and is open to all ages.
The course is straightforward: select your distance, choose whether to carry a pumpkin, and proceed through the park at your own pace. Families are accommodated, with children 5 and under participating for free in all events. The youngest Sugar Pumpkin participants receive a free medal when accompanied by a paying adult. Before the race, an MC will lead games and a warm-up. Event day activities include pumpkin carving, axe throwing, photo opportunities, and other games. The charity partner is Shea-Lynn’s Butterfly Effect, a St. Albert nonprofit focused on promoting seat belt use and safer driving habits.
